A LAW FIRM WITH A DIFFERENCE

Our civil system is designed to promote fairness and just results. Despite what the news media may lead you to think, I believe it has been doing so successfully for hundreds of years.

The practice of law has changed a lot in the past 25 years. A lot of people have this image of a lawyer as sitting behind a big oak desk in an office full of dusty old books, wearing a three-piece suit before golfing with the judge at the country club, and talking down to his client “this is how it is going to be” and “what’s going to happen.”

I am sure these lawyers still exist. In fact, I have had cases against them: the lawyers that work for the big companies or insurers. I work for people. And being close with my clients is my advantage.

Although the system might not change much, the practice of law has. I fashion my practice as a 21st century, client-centric lawyer.

The best results I have had in my career came in cases where my clients and I were always on the same page. When my clients understand the case and the legal arguments, they are dangerous to a defense lawyer. That is the type of communication and collaboration for which I strive. I will not talk down to you. I will explain things to you and then, when you understand the legal issues, we will have a discussion about our best strategies.

I do not believe that is the best way to achieve client goals. I think the best resource any lawyer has is the client – I will work together with you to learn about your issues, develop the case collaboratively, and help you to understand the process.

Few cases get all the way to trial… most settle long before that point (and it is always your decision when and if to settle). But every case is built for trial. That means we will be developing high-quality evidence to prove the elements of our case to the jury.

Treating my client like an equal and working collaboratively is not the only new school feature of my practice.

Your case file is in the cloud and, if you would like, accessible to you at any time. I will use leading technologies, programs, and specialists, to investigate, build, and prosecute your claim.

In the 21st century, information flows instantaneously and everyone is connected. Your lawyer must be attuned to the social and technological resources available or you will get left behind.

I am a licensed private investigator and I build my civil cases not unlike a detective builds evidence in a criminal case. We do a civil investigation. We find and talk to witnesses. We search out and uncover documentation. We think creatively and act aggressively.

We also hire the best experts. Sometimes that means our own private investigators. Sometimes that means hiring IT experts to retrieve data from a defendant’s computer systems. (Nothing makes a wrongdoing defendant more nervous than when we send in an IT expert to clone their hard drives and cloud). Oftentimes, we need a subject-matter expert. I have used leading experts in many diverse industries, including forensic handwriting, computer forensics, banking, investing, security, management, regulations, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, engineering, architecture, and medical doctors in virtually every specialty.

We provide unparalleled commitment and service to our clients from the moment you hire our services to the day your file closes (and even after). Most lawyers leave the phone ringing, fail to explain the details of case delays, or leave you guessing about the status of your case.

The Eric Henry Law Firm goes above and beyond to ensure that our clients are heard and cared for. You will have your attorney’s personal cell phone number for 24/7 on-call service with regular follow-ups from our team. We’ll address questions, field concerns and keep you apprised of the progress of your case at all times.
